ORDINANCE NO. 5211-70
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA -1962 SECTION 40 AS AMENDED
AND GENERAL ORDINANCE NO. 4990 -68, AND THE ACCOMPANYING
MAP THERETO, GENERALLY KNOWN AS THE SOUTH BEND ZONING
ORDINANCE BY CHANGING THE CLASSIFICATION OF THE USE
DISTRICT FOR A CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
The municipal Code of the City of South Bend, Indiana, 1962, and
General Ordinance No. 4990 -68 and the accompanying map or maps
thereto, as amended, are further amended insofar as the same re-
lates to that certain parcel of land situate in the City of South
Bend, and known and designated as:
Parcels of land in the Southwest 1/4 of Sec. 25, Twp.37N.,
R.2E.,more particularly described as follows: Those parts of Lots 1,
20 and 21 that lie West of the Northwest Right -Of -Way line of the U.S.
20 -31 By -Pass, and also those parts of lots 26 and 37 that lie North
of the Northwest Right -Of -Way line of the U.S.20 -31 By -Pass, and also
all of Lots 22, 23, 24, �5, 38, 39 and 40 all in Pleasant View Manor
Subdivision as recorded.
Also a parcel of land in the Southwest 1/4 of Sec. 25, Twp.
37N. R.2E., more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a
point which is 20 feet South of the Northwest corner of said 1/4
section, which point is on the South Right -Of -Way line of Ireland
Road, thence South 614 feet more or less, to the North Right -Of -Way
line of Callander Street, thence east along the north right -of -way
line of Callander Street, 290 feet, more or less, to the East Right -
Of-Wayline of Main Street, thence Northeasterly along the West Right-
of-Way line of Main Street, 631 feet, more or less, to the South Right-
of-Way line of Ireland Road, thence west along the south right -of -way
line of Ireland Road, 322 feet, more or less, to the place of beginning.
Also a parcel of land in the Southwest 1/4 of Sec. 25, Twp. 37N.,
R.2E.1 more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point
which is 387 feet, more or less, South of the South Right -Of -Way line
of Ireland Road and on the West Right -Of -Way line of U.S. 31 (Michigan
Road), thence South along said U.S. 31 Right -Of -Way 232 feet, more or
less, to a point which is 50 feet North of the intersection of the North

Right -Of -Way line of Callander Street and the West Right -of -Way line
of U.S. 31, thence West 165 feet, more or less, parallel with Callander
Street, thence South 50 feet, more or less, to the North Right -Of -Way
line of Callander Street, thence West along the North Right -Of -Way line
of Callander Street to the East Right -of -Way line of Main Street, thence
Northeasterly along the East Right -Of -Way line of Main Street 282 feet,
more or less, thence East 320 feet, more or less, to the place of be-
ginning.
Also excepting from the above described property the West
Right -Of -Way of the U.S. 20 -31 By -Pass which runs along the East side
of the above described property.

The attached zoning petition of a parcel of land extending
South of Ireland to the By -pass Right -of -way around to
U.S. 31 commonly known as Pleasantview Manor Subdivision
was legally advertised under dates of May 9 and May 16 and
given public hearing on May 19, 1970, The following action
was taken on May 19, 1970:
After due consideration, it was moved,
seconded and unanimously carried that
the ordinance and site development plan
be recommended favorably to the Common
Council,
The deliberations of the Area Plan Commission and points
considered in arriving at the above decision are shown in
the excerpts of the minutes attached hereto and made a
part of this report.
