ORDINANCE NO. 5392 -72
An Ordinance Fixing the Annual Salaries, for
Certain Personnel of the Engineering Depart-
ment of the City, and Appropriating the Monies
Therefor, and for Other Related Purposes.
Purpose and Intent
The Engineering Department of the City hired an engineer
and three (3) engineer aides effective March 1, 1972. Said per-
sonnel were hired pursuant to an agreement between the Board of
Public Works and Safety and the South Bend Department of Redevelop-
ment, whereby the Engineering Department of the City shall provide
engineering services to the Department of Redevelopment and the
Department of Redevelopment shall pay to said Board the approximate
sum of $43,500. for the year 1972, which sum is to be covered into
the General Fund of the Treasury of the Citv to cover the costs of
such engineering services.
This Ordinance appropriates to the Engineering Department
of the City the monies necessary to pay the salaries and the other
expenses incidental to the above - referenced agreement. The monies
for such salary and other expenses shall come from the monies cov-
ered into the General Fund pursuant to the contract referred to
above.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of
the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows:
SECTION 1. The annual budget for the City of South Bend,
Indiana, is hereby amended as follows, and the following
sums of money are hereby appropriated and ordered set
apart from the General Fund for the following purposes:
Office of Controller
Current Obligations
B -62,63 & 64 Incidental salary costs (22 %)
for March thru Dec. 31, 1972
$6,800.00
L - 11 Engineer
Total for Office of Controller $ 6,800.00
Engineering Department
1 at $10,017.per annum
from March 1 thru Dec.31,1972.
$8,347.50
Engineering Aid III 3 at $q,000. per annum
from March 1 thru Dec. 31,1972
$22,500.00

$35,347.50
TOTAL APPROPRIATION

SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be effective after
approval by the Mayor.
