ORDINANCE NO. 5367 -71
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE
WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
BEND, INDIANA, AND HITE EQUIPMENT REPAIR, INC.,
FOR THE PURCHASE OF A CASE 4 -WHEEL RUBBER TIRE
LOADER IN THE SUM OF $18,800.00.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA:
SECTION I: That the contract entered into between the Wastewater
Treatment Plant of the City of South Bend, Indiana, and Hite Equip-
ment Repair, Inc. on the 3rd day of November 1971 for the purpose
of purchasing a Case 4 -wheel rubber tire loader in the sum of
$18,800.00, is hereby approved and confirmed.
SECTION II: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption and approval by the Mayor.

The proper' procedure was followed in securing bids on a new
loader. Bids were received from the following:
A. H. Choitz & Co., Inc. $19,950.00
D. D. Kennedy, Inc. 23,240.00
Korte Brothers, Inc. 23,128.00
(Alternate) 24,375.00
Hite Equipment Repair, Inc. 18,800.00
Indiana Equipment Company 23,167.00
Our supervisor, Morgan Peck, checked the equipment of the low
bidder and found that it was bid in accordance with specifica-
tions. We, therefore, entered into a contract with Hite
Equipment Repair, Inc. as the low bidder.
Attached is Mr. Louis Rague`s report explaining the need for
the equipment.
