ORDINANCE NO. 5349 -71 w
AN ORDINANCE FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION
IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,000.00 FROM THE GENERAL FUND __..
TO ACCOUNT T -726, "OTHER EQUIPMENT" IN THE TRAFFIC
DEPARTMENT, SAID ACCOUNT BEING WITHIN THE GENERAL
FUND.
WHEREAS, certain extraordinary conditions have developed
since the adoption of the existing annual budget so that it is now
necessary to appropriate more money than was appropriated in the
annual budget for the various functions of City Government to meet
such extraordinary conditions; and

WHEREAS, additional funds are needed by the Traffic Depart-
ment to purchase materials to repair traffic signals which have been
damaged. Damages which have been collected have been deposited in
the General Fund. These funds are needed to assure the Traffic
Department's ability to properly perform its functions,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of
the City of South Bend, Indiana:
SECTION I. That the sum of $3,000.00 be appropriated from
the General Fund to Account T -726, "Other Equipment ", in the Traffic
Department, within the General Fund.
SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, its approval
by the Mayor and the fulfillment of all statutory requirements for
emergency appropriations. ))�/

SUBJECT: Appropriation of Funds
Gentlemen:
September 24, 1971
It is requested that $3,000.00 be appropriated from the general Fund and
transferred to item T -726 for purchase of properties.
When traffic signals or signs are knocked down or damaged, they are replaced,
repaired or reconstructed with materials purchased from the T -726 fund.
Damages have been collected for these items in the amount of $3,725.58 as
of September 1, 1971. However the money collected was turned into the general
fund.
It is respectfully requested that consideration be given to this request since..
T -726 is all but depleted and properties will have to be purchased to replace
those used.
