HomeMy WebLinkAboutZoning - Commonly known as Sample & Mayflower RoadsCommonly known as Sample and Mayflower Roads ORDINANCE NO. 5336 -71 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA - 1962 SECTION 40 AS AMENDED AND GENERAL ORDINANCE NO. 4990 -68, AND THE ACCOMPANYING MAP THERETO, GENERALLY KNOWN AS THE SOUTH BEND ZONING ORDINANCE BY CHANGING THE CLASSIFICATION OF THE USE DISTRICT FOR A CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1 The municipal Code of the City of South Bend, Indiana, 1962, and General Ordinance No. 4990 -68 and the accompanying map or maps thereto, as amended, are further amended insofar as the same relates to that certain parcel of land situate in the City of South Bend, and known and designated as: Beginning at a point 1332.5 feet east of the northwest corner of Section 17, T37N, R2E; thence east along the north line of said Section 17 to the north -south centerline of said Section 17 (which centerline is also the centerline of Mayflower Road); thence south along the said centerline a distance of 2221 feet more or less to the north right -of -way line of the Indiana and Lake Michigan Railroad (later known as Vandalia or St. Joseph, South Bend and Southern Rail- road); thence west along the north right -of -way line of said Railroad to a point 789.1 feet west of the north and south 1/4 section line; thence north 1141.5 feet; thence east 789.8 feet to the said north and south 1/4 section line; thence north along the said 1/4 section line a distance of 1088.7 feet to the point of beginning, excepting therefrom the entire south 1/2 of the right -of -way of Grant Road (Sample Street); said described land containing 86 acres more or less, all in the northwest 1/4 of Section 17, T37N, R2E, Portage Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana, by changing the classification of the "Use District" from "Unzoned" to "B -1" Residential and from "No" Height and Area District to "A" Height and Area District. Section 2 This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, approval by the Mayor and legal public- ation. JEFFERSON BLVD., SOUTH BEND, INDIANA 98801 (219) 284 -9571 August 18, 1971 Re: Proposed ordinance to zone recently annexed property commonly known as the Sample Street (Grant Road) and Mayflower southwest inter- section - 215 -71 The attached proposed ordinance originated by the Area Plan Commission to zone recently annexed property located at the southwest corner of theintersection of Sample Street (Grant Road) and Mayflower Road in the city of South Bend was legally advertised on August 7 and August 14, 1971 and given public hearing on August 17, 1971, at which time the following action was taken: After consideration, it was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that the ordinance be recom- mended favorably to the Common Council of the City of South Bend.
