GAMMON Approved and signed by me, // Iq 7 3 Clerk ORDINANCE S S / 8- '73 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $51,912.00 IN ACCOUNT NO. 120, "SERVICES PERSONAL ", $3,037.00 IN ACCOUNT NO. 620, "CURRENT OBLIGATIONS ", AND $2,500.00 IN ACCOUNT NO. 726, "PROPERTIES ", FOR A TOTAL APPROPRIATION OF $57,449.00 FROM THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT FUND, COMMONLY KNOWN AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING, FOR THE PURPOSES OF A SUMMER ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN -UP PROGRAM, FA -6, TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT The Federal Government has provided general revenue sharing funds to the City of South Bend beginning in the year 1972, and the Federal Government has indicated that this program shall continue for a period of five years. This fund is legally known as the Federal Assistance Grant Fund. The Mayor of the City of South Bend and the South Bend Common Council has conducted town forum meetings in all of the councilmanic districts of the City to obtain information and recommendations from the citizens in regard to the programs and priorities which should benefit from these funds. Detailed investigations and consultations have been conducted by all the councilmen, the Mayor and all cabinet departments in regard to all of the recommendations made before, during, and after these town hall meetings. This particular ordinance appropriates funds received from the Federal Government for the years 1972 and 1973. No appropriations are included in this ordinance which involves federal money for 1974. This appropriation is intended as an authorization to the Public Works Department to commit and spend the full amount of this appropriation ordinance. The total amount of this ordinance was arrived at by consensus of agreement in regard to the Summer Environmental Clean -Up Program, FA -6, in the Public Works Department which programs collectively totalled the figure of $57,449.00. This ordinance limits the total expenditure by the Public Works Department to the $57,449.00 amount. Budget line items have been established by the Summer Environmental Clean-Up Program, FA -6, to be undertaken by the Department of Public Works with the money approp- riated under this ordinance. It adjustments need to be made to transfer funding from one program budget to another program budget within the total ordinance appropriation, such budget adjustments must receive approval of the Common Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana as follows: Section I.
