AN ORDINANCE FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION IN THE
AMOUNT OF $140.00 FROM THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT, M -11,
SERVICES PERSONAL, TO THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT, M -55,
SUBCRIPTIONS AND DUES, BOTH ACCOUNTS WITHIN THE
BUILDING DEPARTMENT OF THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND.
WHEREAS, the budgeted amount for subscriptions and dues is
insufficient to maintain membership in certain fact finding and sharing
organizations important to the operation of the Building Department on a
current and progressive level; and
WHEREAS, additional funds are available in Item M -11,
Services Personal, within the Building Department to meet these obligations;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the
City of South Bend, Indiana:
SECTION I. That the sum of $140.00 be appropriated from
Building Department, M -11, Services Personal, to Building Department, M -55,
Subcriptions and Dues.
SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council, its approval by the Mayor
and the fullfillment of all statutory requirements for additional appropriations.

It is requested that the above - captioned account be
augmented to accommodate the following obligations of the
City of South Bend, Indiana with reference to memberships in
these organizations:
Building Officials and Code Administrators,
International $ 150.00
American Society of Planning Officials 20.00
Indiana Association of Building Officials 30.00
International Assoc. of Electrical Inspectors 15.00
National Assoc, of Housing and Redevelopment
Officials 25.00
Total $ 240.00
Amount budgeted, 1973 $ 100.00
Amount of difference and this request $ 140.00
The City of South Bend, traditionally, has been
subscribing members of these organizations and participates
and benefits by virtue of such membership.
At present, the undersigned is an executive committee
member of BOCA and chairman of a principal committee as well as
a member of several others. Also, currently am president of
IAOBO. All these activities reflect credit to our City on a
local, state, national and international basis.
Funds to make up the difference are available from
Account Number M -11.
Appropriate action to supply these funds is requested.
