AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE
BUREAU OF WATER OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA, AND ROCKWELL MANUFACTURING COMPANY,
PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA, FOR THE PURCHASE OF
AN ASSORTMENT OF WATER METERS FOR USE FROM
APRIL 1, 1973 TO APRIL 1, 1974, IN THE AMOUNT
OF $16,140.00.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
SECTION I: That the contract entered into between the Bureau of Water
of the City of South Bend, Indiana, and Rockwell Manufacturing Company,
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on the 19th day of March 1973, pursuant to
advertising and receipt of bids as the purchase of same is required in
the operation of the Bureau of Water, in a total quantity and a total
cost not to exceed the quantity and cost itemized for each classification
of water meters in the amount of $16,140.00, is hereby approved and
confirmed:

RE: Ordinances for the Purchase of an Assortment of Water
Meters for use From April 1, 1973 to April 1, 1974
The Bureau of Water is presenting three ordinances to the Common
Council for the purchase of an assortment of water meters for use
from April 1, 1973 to April 1, 1974.
The meters are of various sizes and will be used as needed through-
out the system. A certain number of these must be on hand at all
times in order to provide us with supplies for immediate and necessary
service to the consumer. The quantity stated in the bids is the
maximum amount that would be purchased during the year. Said meters
will be purchased as needed.
Bids were let pursuant to the Statutes of the State of Indiana and
were found competitive. The contracts were let on an item basis to
Badger Meter, Inc., Rockwell Manufacturing Company and Hersey Products,
Inc., Ametrol Division by the Board of water Works Commissioners on
the 19th day of March, 1973, as being the lowest and the best. The
total amount of this purchase is $123,672.
