AN ORDINANCE FOR THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS
WITHIN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT BUDGET IN THE
AMOUNT OF $3,361.07 FROM ACCOUNT Q -11,
"SERVICES PERSONAL" TO A NEW ACCOUNT BEING
ESTABLISHED FOR THIS PURPOSE, Q -53, "REFUNDS,
AWARDS AND INDEMNITIES ", BOTH ACCOUNTS BEING
WITHIN THE GENERAL FUND.
WHEREAS, certain extraordinary conditions have
developed since the adoption of the existing annual budget,
so that it is now necessary to appropriate more money than
was appropriated in the annual budget for the various functions
of City Government to meet such extraordinary conditions; and
WHEREAS, additional funds are needed to establish
a new account, Account No. Q -53, "Refunds, Awards and
Indemnities ", in order to replace tools taken from mechanics
in a theft in the Fire Department Garage, and to assure the
department's ability to properly perform its functions; and
WHEREAS, a surplus exists in another account where
it is not presently needed and more specifically as follows,
to -wit:
$3,361.07 in Account Q -11, "Services Personal ", in
the Fire Department Budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council
of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that:
SECTION I. That the sum of $3,361.07 be transferred
from Account Q -11, "Services Personal" to a new account being
established for the purpose of replacing tools stolen in a theft
in the Fire Department, as follows:
Q -53 "Refunds, Awards and Indemnities ", in the sum
of $3,361.07.
Both Accounts Q -11 and Q -53 being within the General
Fund.
SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, its
approval by the Mayor and the fulfillment of all statutory re-
quirements for emergency appropriations.
