AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $825,000.00 FROM
THE LOCAL ROAD AND STREET FUND AND $275,000.00
FROM THE CUMULATIVE SEWER BUILDING AND SINKING
FUND FOR PROJECT R & S 48- CONTRACT NO. 2 -
IRELAND ROAD FROM YORK ROAD TO IRONWOOD ROAD &
IRONWOOD ROAD FROM IRELAND ROAD TO 1500 FEET
NORTH
WHEREAS, there was enacted during the 1969 Session of
the Indiana General Assembly an Act, Chapter 392 of the Acts of
1969, making available to cities, towns and counties for
engineering, construction or reconstruction of roads, streets
and bridges under local jurisdication, certain additional funds
to be derived from the 7th and 8th cents of Indiana motor fuel
tax and fuel use tax and from increases in fees levied under
the Motor Vehicle Act; and
WHEREAS, no appropriation of such funds was included
in the regular 1973 budget for the Civil City of South Bend,
Indiana; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists requiring the appropriation
and expenditure of certain of said funds already received or to be
received before the end of the year 1973; and
WHEREAS, funds are to be appropriated for the City's
matching share from the Cumulative Sewer Building and Sinking Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of
the City of South Bend, Indiana:
SECTION I. The following sums of money are hereby
appropriated and ordered set apart out of the Local Road and
Street Fund and the Cumulative Sewer Building and Sinking Fund
for the purpose of widening, reconstruction and installation
of storm sewers and retention basins on the following Project:
