ORDINANCE NO. 5440 -72
AN ORDINANCE FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION
IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,500.00 FROM THE GENERAL
FUND AND THE TRANSFER OF SAME TO ACCOUNT T -726,
"OTHER EQUIPMENT" IN THE TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT
BUDGET, SAID ACCOUNT BEING WITHIN THE GENERAL
FUND.
WHEREAS, certain extraordinary conditions have developed
since the adoption of the existing annual budget so that it is now
necessary to appropriate more money than was appropriated in the
annual budget for the various functions of City Government to meet
such extraordinary conditions; and
WHEREAS, additional funds are needed by the Traffic
Department to purchase materials to repair traffic signals and for
general maintenance. Damages of over $6,900.00 have been collected
for the repair of signals and deposited in the General Fund. The
appropriation requested is needed to assure the Traffic Department's
ability to properly perform its functions,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of
the City of South Bend, Indiana:
SECTION I. That the sum of $4,500.00 be appropriated from
the General Fund and transferred to Account T -726, "Other Equipment ",
in the Traffic Department budget, said account being within the General
Fund.
SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council, its approval by the
Mayor and the fulfillment of all statutory requirements for emergency
appropriations.
