Clerk ORDINANCE NO. 5596`73 AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE ANNUAL PAY OF POLICEMEN FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 1974. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The annual pay of the officers and members of the police force of the City of South Bend for the year 1974, by rank and classification, shall be as follows: Chief Division Chief Captain Lieutenant Sergeant Corporal First Class Patrolman Officer in Patrolman Training $ 15,452.00 12,755.00 11,929.00 11,322.00 10,990.00 10,168.00 9,463.00 8,759.00 8,055.00 SECTION II. In addition to the foregoing annual pay, the officers and members of the police force shall receive compensation for extra duty and special performance as follows: For time spent in court appearances and overtime work, as determined by the Chief of Police, $5.00 per hour: For personnel required to work on legal holidays, $32.00 per holiday worked; this shall apply to the following eleven holidays and no others: New Year's Day Lincoln's Birthday Washington's Birthday Good Friday Memorial Day Fourth of July Labor Day Columbus Day Veteran's Day Thanksgiving Christmas Education Incentive to be paid in addition to the annual pay and all other compensation as follows: For a bachelor's degree from an accredited four -year college or university, or equivalent, $1,500.00 per year; For an associate paper or two -year degree or equivalent, in an appropriate course of study, $900.00 per year; -2- For hours of credit in acceptable and appropriate college -level courses of study, $10.00 per year per credit -hour for one to sixty credit hours, and $5.00 per year per credit -hour for all credit hours in excess of sixty up to a maximum of one hundred and twenty credit hours; credit hours used toward incentive pay must be completed with a passing grade. Education Incentive paid must be for courses related to police work; For night incentive and hazard pay, $225.00 per year. SECTION III.
