Director, Public Works Members of the Common Council County /City Building South Bend, IN 46601 Subject: Michigan Street, Angela Boulevard Intersection Improvement Gentlemen: Reply To: Department of Public Works April 16, 1974 The Department of Public Works is requesting a total of $90,000 for the reconstruction of the Michigan - Angela intersection. The present peak -hour demand exceeds the capacity of this intersection. This proposed improvement will add additional lane capacity at this intersection to handle the traffic demand. The increased capacity at this intersection will reduce delays, a significant factor in terms of fuel conservation and reduced air pollution. The total funds requested include $81,000 from the LRSA account and $9,000 from the CCIF. Your favorable consideration of this request is recommended. Very truly yours. Rollin E. Farrand, P. E.
