GAMMON Clerk ORDINANCE NO. 5- & (, .4 _ 7 A/ AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $31,500.00 FROM THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING, FOR VARIOUS PUBLIC PARKS PROGRAMS, TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC PARKS. WHEREAS, additional funds are needed by the Department of public Parks to administer certain Public Parks programs and to ensure the Department's ability to properly perform its functions during the year of 1974. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend as follows: SECTION I. That the sum of $31,500.00 is hereby appropriated for the year of 1974 from the Federal Assistance Grant Fund, commonly known as the General Revenue Sharing Fund. This appropriation is to be administered by the Department of Public Parks and will be distributed as set forth below: SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, approval by the Mayor, and the fulfillment of all statutory requirements for emergency funding. �!SO Ist READING 4� -.2 a - -? In order to operate these programs, we are requesting: Salaries & Wages $26;300.00' Other Contractual Services 2,227.00 Other Equipment 1,400:.00.. Social Security 1,573:00. $31,500.00' 1. Opening of four High School Gyms & Pools Five nights a week.for six weeks. Schools: Adam La Salle, Riley and Washington Hours: 6:00 - 9:00 P.M. Season: July 8 to August 16 1973 Attendance: Average of 1,200.per week at each school Resource.Requirement: Eleven persons per school @ four schools equal.to 44.persons $172000.00 2. Sumer Track Program Sites: Adams/Notre Dane, Jackson, La Salle, Riley and Washington Hours: 9:00'- 11:30 A.M. & 1:00 - 4:00.P.M. & 6:00 8.00 p.M. Season: June 10 to August 9 1973 Attendance: 250 per site per week Resource Requirements: Leadership and Transportation $ 5,000.00 3. Instructional Dgim Program at the Public Natatorium (Model Cities Area) Hours: 9:00. - 4:oo.P:M. Season: 5 weeks (June 17 - July 19) 1973 Attendance: 100 per program Resource Requirement: 3 Certified Instructors $ 2,500,00 4. Life Time Sports Program Instruction provided in Golf, Tennis and Bowling Sites: 36 playgrounds throughout the city Hours: Tennis 9:30 12:00 one day per week Bowling 1:00 - 3:30 one day per week Golf 1:15 - 3:45 one day per week Season: 9 weeks (June 10 to August 9) 1973 Attendance: 180 per sports per week Resource Requirement: Fees, Transportation $ 1,500.00 5. Basketball Clinics at each Blab School Hours: 8:80 - 10:15 & 10-30 - 12:15 Season: 2.weeks (dates vary for each school) 1973 Attendance: 60 per day per site Resource.Requirement: Instructors 6..
