IND. CITY OF SOUTH BEND Jerry J. Miller Mayor MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM Floyd M. Jessup, Manager 211 North Michigan Street South Bend, Indiana 46601 Ph. 232 -6954 Mr. Walter Lantz. Deputy City Controller South Bend, Indiana Dear Mr. Lantz: October 16, 1973 Early in September of this year it became apparent to me that we should replace some of the fire hose in locations throughout the Morris Civic Auditorium. I called Indiana Safety Inc., and they informed me that all eleven stations needed replacement at this time and that we are in viola- tion of OSHA safety code because some of the hc>e is fifty years old and the hose is only good for twelve years. I am enclosing a quotation from them in the amount of $706.50 which it will cost to make this necessary improvement. Since I have exhausted our a/c #K -252 (repairs of equip.) I propose transferring $500.00 from a/c #K -723 (sound equip.) and $250,00 from a/c #K -726 (other equip.) to cover this expense this year. Also, I am out of funds to pay for maintenance @ $1.58 hr. This is used for the house usher and with the number of programs scheduled yet this year I will need an additional 100 hours ( $158.00 ) transfered to a/c #K -12 from #K -726. I sincerely deem this transfer of funds pertinate to the operation of the auditorium for the remainder of the year and trust that you and the City Council will agree i Floy M. Je s p FMT /1 n enc.
