S S 8 9- 93 AN ORDINANCE FOR THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS WITHIN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT BUDGET IN THE AMOUNT OF $ 3,000.00 FROM ACCOUNT P -12 "SERVICES PERSONAL" TO ACCOUNT P -262 "MEDICAL,SURGICAL, AND DENTAL ", BOTH ACCOUNTS BEING WITHIN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT BUDGET OF THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. WHEREAS, certain extraordinary conditions have developed since the adoption of the existing annual budget so that it is now necessary to appropriate more money than was appropriated in the annual budget for the various functions of City Government to meet such extraordinary conditions; and WHEREAS, additional funds are needed by the South Bend Police Department to meet expenses and to assure that Department's ability to properly perform its functions; and WHEREAS, a surplus exists in another account where it is not presently needed, and more specifically as follows, to -wit: $ 3,000.00 in Account P -12, "Services Personal ". NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend: SECTION I. That the sum of $ 3,000.00 be transfered from Account P -12 "Services Personal" to Account P -262 "Medical, Surgical, and Dental ", both accounts being within the Police Department Budget of the General Fund of the City of South Bend, Indiana. SECTION II. Sypn ewski Financial Manager South Bend Bureau of Police 701 West Sample Street South Bend, Indiana 46621 This emergency appropriation is necessary at, this time due to the following: Account P -262 has gone into a deficit balance in the amount of $2241.41. We have in -house claims in excess of the amount of $600.00, There is a contingent liability of $1,300.00, on one claim, which needs to be resolved by the City Attorney's Office. We therefore request that this transfer be made in lieu of insurance settlements in excess of $2,000.00. The transfer necessary at this time is $3,000.00 from P -12 to P -262.
