S -? s 8- -) y AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $110,000.00 FROM THE CUMULATIVE SEWER BUILDING AND SINKING FUND. WHEREAS, engineering studies have been completed outlining needs for a separated sewer system in the Model Cities area; and WHEREAS, these studies show a need for the acquisition of land; and WHEREAS, The City of South Bend, through its Common Council and Mayor have entered into a contract with HUD to build said sewer project; and WHEREAS, a Cumulative Sewer Building and Sinking Fund has been established; and WHEREAS, funds are needed for the necessary land acquisition. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana: Section I. That the sum of $110,000.00 be appropriated from the Cumulative Sewer luilding and Sinking Fund for the necessary land acquisition for the Model Cities Sewer Separation Project, CS -2, 1972. TOTAL APPROPRIATION $110,000.00 Section II. Public Works Members of the Common Council South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: Reply To: Bureau of Design & Administration October 7, 1974 Attached is an ordinance appropriating $110,000.00 from the Cumulative Sewer Sinking and.Building Fund to CS -2, Model Cities Sewer Separation Project. Prior to this time, money was appropriated for engineering on this project. The engineering design work has proceeded to a point where necessary land acquisition has been defined. The land to be acquired is an area bounded by Orange Street, College Street, Washington Avenue and Jackson Street. A re- tention basin is to be constructed on this site. For your reference, this project is expected to cost approximately $2.1 million with approximately $679,000.00 coming from HUD. Your approval of this appropriation will be appreciated.
