GAMMON Clerk ORDINANCE NO. 5-?3,3--2'1 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A NEW ACCOUNT #726.0 "OTHER EQUIPMENT" AND TRANSFERRING $7, 000.00 FROM ACCOUNT #261 "OTHER CONTRACTUAL SERVICES" TO THIS NEW ACCOUNT, BOTH ACCOUNTS BEING WITHIN PROGRAM FA27 IN THE REVENUE SHARING TRUST FUND, OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND. WHEREAS, certain extraordinary conditions have developed since the adoption of the existing budget for the Federal Assistance Program FA27, "Rum Village Nature Education Center ", so that it is now necessary to appropriate more money than was appropriated in the original budget for the various functions of City Government to meet such extraordinary conditions; and WHEREAS, additional funds are needed to establish a new account #726.0 "Other Equipment" within the Federal Assistance Program FA27 "Rum Village Nature Center" to assure that departments ability to properly perform its functions; and WHEREAS, a surplus exists in Account #261.0 "Other Contractual Services" which is not presently needed: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana: Section I. That the sum of $7, 000.00 be transferred from Account 261.0 "Other Contractual Services" to Account 726.0 "Other Equipment" both in Program FA27, Revenue Sharing Trust Fund. Section II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its passage by the Common Council and its approval by the Mayor. 1st READING PUBLIC HEARING 2nd READING NOT APPROVED REFERRED PASSED B- aG --75� 9 -as- ESL 9- as - </ 9- as -'7V FILED IN CLERK'S OFFICE AUG 211974 Irene Gammon CITY CLERK; SOUTH BEND, IND, •,M MAILM Department of Pablie Parks Administration Building St. Louis Boulevard at Wayne Street South Bend 17, Indiana August 20, 1974 Mr. Peter Nemeth, President South Bend Common Council County -City Building 227 West Jefferson Boulevard South Bend, Indiana Dear Pete: The Department of Public Parks is requesting the Common Council to transfer $7,000.00, from the balance in Revenue Sharing, Account #261, Other Contractual Services, Rum village Nature Education Center, to Account #726, Properties, Other Equipment. As you are aware, the Council appropriated $150,000.00 for the Nature Center Complex. The building and perimeter fence cost $127,962.009 architect fees were $8,765.94, leaving a balance of $13,272.06. The D building is now finished and in order to institute the programs in the building equipment must be purchased. A list of the proposed equipment will be submitted to the council at a later date. The balance of the money in Account #261 will be used for nature trail development. The new Nature Center is definitely an asset to the park system and the Park Board is confident that the program that is being planned by the Recreation Department will make the above expenditures beneficial to the citizens of South Bend.
