Miller Mayor Rollin E. Farrand, Sr., P. E. Director, Public Works Members of the Common Council South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: Reply To: Bureau of Design & Administration July 18, 1974 A Barrett Law Sewer project was initiated for the Portage Gardens area. On past Barrett Law projects with smaller total dollar value, the Engineering fees were paid from the Cumulative Capital Improvement Fund and then this fund was reimbursed from the Cumulative Sewer Sinking and Building Fund. Due to the balances in CCIF and the dollar value of the Portage Gardens engineering fees, it was not possible to follow the above procedure. In this particular case, we are requesting a direct appropriation to cover the Engineering costs. When the assessment roll is calculated, this will then be reflected as a credit to the City's share of the cost of this project. Your favorable action will be appreciated. Very truly yours, Rollin E.
