AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $10,200.00 FROM THE
FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT COMMONLY REFERRED TO
AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING, FOR VARIOUS PUBLIC
PARKS PROGRAMS, TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC
PARKS.
WHEREAS, additional funds are needed by the Department of public
Parks to administer certain Public Parks programs and to ensure the De-
partment's ability to properly perform its functions during the year of
1974.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the
City of South Bend as follows:
SECTION I. That the sum of $10,200.00 is hereby appropriated
for the year of 1975 from the Federal Assistance Grant Fund, commonly
known as the General Revenue Sharing Fund. This appropriation is to be
administered by the Department of Public Parks and will be distributed
as set forth below:

SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council, approval by the Mayor,
and the fulfillment of all statutory requirements for emergency funding.

Dear Mr. Nemeth:
The Department of Public Parks is requesting the comes council to
approve the enclosed ordinance in the amount of $100200.00.
The $10,200.00 will be used to pay for architect and engineering
services for plans and specifications for the proposed Pier Park.
D As you were ewer*, the cost of the architect fees and development
cast for Pier Park wore included in the park bond issue that was
defeated in November.
The Park Department has received approval of a $75,000.00 grant from
the Department of Natural Resources for the Pier Park development.
We are now in the process of trying to obtain funds-for the develop-
Rant of Pier Park so that we was use the $73,000.00 grant.
