AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $12,600.00 FROM THE
FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT COMMONLY REFERRED TO
AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING, FOR VARIOUS PUBLIC
SAFETY PROGRAMS, TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC
SAFETY.
WHEREAS, additional funds are needed by the Department of Public
Safety to administer certain public safety programs and to insure the
Department's ability to properly perform its functions during the year of
1975.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the
City of South Bend as follows:
SECTION I. That the sum of $12,600.00 is hereby appropriated
for the year of 1975 from the Federal Assistance Grant Fund, commonly
known as the General Revenue Sharing Trust Fund. This appropriation is
to be administered by the Department of Public Safety and will be dis-
tributed as set forth below:

SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect

riations.

Gentlemen:
The South Bend Bureau of Police, through the Depart-
ment of Public Safety, is hereby requesting twelve thousand,
six hundred dollars ($12,600.00) to be appropriated from
the General Revenue Sharing Fund, to establish a contractual
services account for Coordination of Police Computer Services.
The South Bend Community School Corporation has pro-
vided this service through employment of a civilian Dir-
ector. Rather than attempt to meet current salary increases,
we are going to contract with the School Corporation to
provide spceified services at a fixed rate.
