AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING THE SUM_: OF $2,000.00
BETWEEN VARIOUS ACCOUNTS IN THE BUREAU OF POLICE,
ALL ACCOUNTS BEING WITHIN THE GENERAL FUND, CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
WHEREAS, certain extraordinary conditions have developed
since the adoption of the existing budget for the Bureau of Police, in
the General Fund, so that it is now necessary to appropriate more money
than was appropriated in the original budget for the various functions of
City Government to meet such extraordinary conditions; and
WHEREAS, additional funds are needed for various accounts
within the Bureau of Police, in the General Fund, budget to assure that
departments ability to properly perform its functions; and
WHEREAS, a surplus exists in various accounts of the Bureau
of Police, in the General Fund, which are not presently needed:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the
City of South Bend, Indiana:
SECTION I. That the stun of $2,000.00 be transferred be-
tween various accounts as set forth below:
Reduce the following accounts:

260.0 Other Contractuals $2,000.00
SECTION II. This Ordiance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council and its approval by the
Mayor.

September 29, 1975
Effective October 1st, 1975 Sheriff Dean Bolerjack has advised us he
can no longer provide "free" meals to prisoners being held in the City
Jail. The City has never paid for these meals and has no budget account
to pay for them in the present budget or in the 1976 budget. For this
reason we immediately need funds to provide these meals and estimate
this expense to be about $650.00 per month. We can either contract with
the Sheriff or provide meals ourselves, but must have funds to do so.
We are proposing transferring $2,000 in Account P54 into an appropriate
account as we appear to have a surplus in the P54 account. This would
take us to January 1, 1976 at which time funds again will have to be
found to provide meals,
