AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF
$4,000.00 FROM THE PARKING METER FUND
TO ACCOUNT NO. 430.0 "REPAIR PARTS" OF
THE PARKING METER BUDGET FOR 1975 OF
THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
WHEREAS, certain extraordinary conditions have developed
since the adoption of the existing annual budget of the Parking
Meter Department so that it is now necessary to appropriate more
money than was appropriated for that Department's 1975 Budget in
order for that department to meet its governmental functions and
responsibilities; and
WHEREAS, there currently exists a surplus in the Parking
Meter Fund which may be appropriated to Account No. 430.0
"Repair Parts" of the Parking Meter Budget for 1975;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the
City of South Bend, Indiana:
SECTION I. That the sum of $4,000.00 be, and hereby is,
appropriated from the Parking Meter Fund to Account No. 430.0
"Repair Parts" of the Parking Meter Budget for 1975 of the City
of South Bend, Indiana.
SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption by the Common Council, its approval
by the Mayor, and the fulfillment of all statutory requirements
for additional appropriations.

Subject: Additional Appropriations for the Parking
Meter Department
Gentlemen:
The proposed ordinance herein attached would appropriate $4,000 to
the current Parking Meter Budget from unappropriated surplus in the
Parking Meter Fund. The purpose of the appropriation is to cover
the costs of purchasing additional parking meter "heads" and "clocks"
so that the vandalized equipment may be adequately replaced.
For several years the Parking Meter Department has been able to
scavenge parts and materials from surplus meters on hand. However,
these surplus meters have been almost completely used necessitating
additional meters.
