SUBJECT: Lease Termination 119 S. Michigan St. / SBPD Lease Termination
Information item regarding lease termination of police substation located at 119 S. Michigan St., South
Bend IN.
On October 30, 2013 the Department of Community Investment received notice from South Bend Police
Department to terminate the existing lease in Michigan Street Shops located at 119 S. Michigan St.
• Section 10 of that lease agreement requires 30 day notice of lease termination.
• This termination request meets the requirement set forth in section 10 of the current agreement.
• The police substation space in Michigan Street Shops will be vacated by December 1, 2013.

Re: 119 S. Michigan Street
Mr. Fielding, Ms. Jones, and Mrs. Brisco:
I write to formally request the termination of the license agreement entered into on May
10, 2012, regarding the property located at 1.19 S. Michigan St. — currently in use as the South
Bend Police Department Sub- Station. Pursuant to Section 10 of the agreement, the City of South
Bend may terminate the license granted by the agreement for any reason subject to thirty (30)
days written notice. Please allow this letter to serve as notice of our termination effective
December 1, 2013.
