S 8 _&/ _ 12 s AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $150,000.00 FROM THE COMYMITY DEVELOPMENT GRANT FUND, FOR VARIOUS PUBLIC PARKS PROGRAMS, TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTIi BEND THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC PARKS. RHEREAS, additional funds are needed by the Department of Public Parks to administer certain public parks programs and to insure the department's ability to properly perform its functions during the year 1975. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend as follows: SECTION I. The sum of $150,000.00 is hereby appropriated for the year 19 5 rom the Community Development Grant Fund. This approp- riation is to be administered by the Department of Public Parks and will be distributed as set forth below: PROGRAM CD 3 PIER PARK Account Amount Other Contractual Services 260.0 $150,000.00 SECTION II. Seitz, Park Superintendent Subject: Cost Estimates of Southeast Side, Belleville & Pier Parks Date: July 8, 1975 Listed below is an estimated budget cost for the three park projects listed. Most of the Council has reviewed the proposed plans of the three park sites and to get these three projects started, I am re- questing the Council to approve the ordinance for the park work. I. Southeast Side Park: a. Four (4) basketball courts, lighted $25,000.00 b. Tennis courts (2) 15,000.00 c. Excavating & grading 10,000.00 d. Baseball field 3,000.00 e. Playground Equipment 4,000.00 f. Engineering & miscellaneous 5,000.00 g. Shelterhouse & restroom 31,000.00 $93,000.00 II. Belleville Park: a. Four (4) tennis courts, lighted $30,000.00 b. Basketball courts (2) 15,000.00 C. Volleyball court 2,000.00 d. Drives & walks 16,000.00 e. Trees, shrubs, etc. 5,000.00 f. Engineering & miscellaneous 3,000.00 g. Playground equipment 4,000.00 $75,000.00 III.
