AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE
BUREAU OF WATER OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
AND; (1.) GATES CHEVROLET CORP., SOUTH BEND, INDIANA,
AND; (2.) BASNEY FORD OF SOUTH BEND, SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA, FOR THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN MOTOR VEHICLES
IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $26,211.81.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
SECTION I. That the Contract entered into between the Bureau of Water
of South Bend, Indiana, and; (1.) Gates Chevrolet Corp., South Bend,
Indiana, and; (2.) Basney Ford of South Bend, South Bend, Indiana on
the 3rd day of May, pursuant to advertising and receipt of bids as the
purchase of same is required in the operation of the Bureau of Water,
in a total quantity and a total cost not to exceed the quantity and
cost itemized for each classification in the amount of $26,211.81,
is hereby approved and confirmed:
1. Gates Chevrolet Corp.
(1) 1976 3/4 Ton 8' Fleetside Pickup
(2) 1976 62' 1/2 Ton Fleetside Pickups
2. Basney Ford of South Bend
(1) 1976 3/4 Ton Pickup
(3) 1976 Four -Door Torinos
(1) 1976 3/4 Ton Cab & Chassis

The Bureau of Water is presenting an Ordinance to the Common
Council which will approve one Contract for the purchase of motor vehicles.
Bids were let pursuant to the Statutes of the State of Indiana
and were found competitive. The Contract was awarded to (1.) Gates
Chevrolet Corp., South Bend, Indiana, and (2.) Basney Ford of South Bend,
South Bend, Indiana, by the Board of Water Works Commissioners on the
3rd day of May, 1976, as being the lowest and best bids. Total net amount
of this purchase is $26,211.81.
