GAMMON Clerk ORDINANCE NO. 5- 8 aG -'J S AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $4,500.00 FROM THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING, FOR VARIOUS PUBLIC SAFETY PROGRAMS, TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY. WHEREAS, additional.funds are needed by the Department of Public Safety to administer certain public safety programs and to insure.the Department's ability to properly perform its.functions during the year of 1975. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend as follows: SECTION I. That the.sum of $4,500.00 is hereby appropriated for the year of 1975 from the Federal Assistance Grant Fund, commonly known as the General REVENUE Sharing Trust Fund. This appropriation is to be administered by the Department of Public Safety and will be distributed as set forth below: Program FA79 "Fire Station #4 - Furnishings" Account Description Amount Equipment 721.0 Furniture & Fixtures $ 4,500.00 Total Equipment 4,500.00 Total FA79 $ 4,500.00 SECTION II. South Bend, Indiana 46601 Gentlemen: Reply To: March 19, 1975 There will be presented for first reading on March 24, 1975, for your consid- eration, an ordinance appropriating $4,500 from the General Revenue Sharing Fund. These funds are to be soley used to purchase the furniture necessary to make the new Fire Station #4 a liveable installation. The following is a breakdown of costs incurred in this project. Total monies available from bond of 71 issue: $215,000 Construction costs per contract through Change Order #7 $207,792.00 Draperies 425.00 Traverse Rods 40.02 Owner's Risk Insurance 235.00 Telephone Installation 50.00 Construction Sub -Total $208,542.02 Landscaping (Exterior) 2,000.00 Construction Contingency 500.00 $211,042.02 Balance Available for Appliances and Furniture: $ 3,957.98 The following are items necessary to make this a liveable station: 1 Kitchen Gas Range 3 Refrigerators 40 Beds 1 Murphy Bed 2 Dining -Room Tables 12 Dining -Room Chairs 40 Lockers If it is estimated that these furnishings will cost $8,457.98 this would leave a deficit of $4,500 which we are requesting from General Revenue Sharing Funds with your approval..
