AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $ 125, 000.00
FROM THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT, COMMONLY
REFERRED TO AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING,
FOR VARIOUS PUBLIC WORKS PROGRAMS, TO BE
ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND
THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS.
WHEREAS, additional funds are needed by the Department of
Public Works to administer certain public works programs and to insure
the Department's ability to properly perform its functions during the year
1976.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED bythe Common Council
of the City of South Bend as follows:
SECTION I. The sum of $125, 000.00 is hereby appropriated
for the year 1976 from the Federal Assistance Grant Fund, commonly known
as the General Revenue Sharing Trust Fund. This appropriation is to
be administered by the Department of Public Works and will be distributed
as set forth below:

Contractual 260.1 Other Contractual Serv. $ 125, 000.00
TOTAL BUDGET APPROPRIATION 125, 000.00
SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council, approval by the Mayor,
and the fulfillment of all statutory requirements for emergency appropriation.

Monies Replacement
This appropriation of $125, 000 in Revenue Sharing Funds to the Century
Center Project is serving to replace the $125 000 removed from the project
as a result of your action on ORDINANCE 5959 -76, (Transfer of Monies
for Parking Garage Bonds,) passed last March 8th, 1976. This action is
consistent with statements made at the public hearing on ORD. 5959 -76
regarding the replacement of these monies in the Century Center Construction
Account.
Your favorable action is requested.
