ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $6,000 TO
LINE ITEM 260.0, CONTRACTUAL SERVICES, WITHIN
THE CUMULATIVE SEWER BUILDING AND SINKING FUND,
TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE BUREAU OF STREETS IN
THE REPAIR OF SEWER STRUCTURES AND RELATED RE-
CONSTRUCTION.
WHEREAS, an additional appropriation of $6,000 is necessary for
Account No. 260.0, Other Contractual Services, within the Cumulative Sewer
Building and Sinking Fund, in order to meet the Department's obligations
during 1976.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of
South Bend, Indiana:
Section I: That the sum of $6,000 is hereby appropriated as set
forth below:

Section II: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption by the Common Council, its approval by the Mayor, and the
fulfillment of all statutory requirements for additional appropriations.

I am submitting an ordinance requesting an appropriation of $6,000
from the Cumulative Sewer Building and Sinking Fund into Other
Contractual Services for the Bureau of Streets. This appropriation
will be used to defray expenses of street cuts necessitated by sewer
failures and related problems, including the adjustment of castings.
There is presently appropriated in the MVH Account, approximately
$2,800 for this purpose. This amount is insufficient to provide for
this type of repair.
It is also anticipated that this money will provide for some repairs
to the concrete streets with which we are now experiencing extensive
problems.
