ORDINANCE NO. 5962 -76
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $ 10,504.36
FROM THE CUMULATIVE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND TO
THE GENERAL IMPROVEMENT FUND.
WHEREAS, the Elwood Sidewalk Project has been constructed
in accordance to a bid and resolution submitted to and approved by
the Board of Public Works, and
WHEREAS, the City of South Bend was assessed in the amount
of $ 10,504.36 for its portion of this Barrett Law Project; and
WHEREAS, funds are now needed to pay the City's share of
the assessed cost of said construction; and
WHEREAS, a Cumulative Capital Improvement Fund has been
established to incur costs of this nature,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the
City of South Bend, Indiana;
SECTION I. The sum of $ 10,504.36 be appropriated from the
Cumulative Capital Improvement Fund to the General Improvement Fund.
SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council, its approval by
the Mayor, and the fulfillment of all statutory requirements.

This appropriation represents the City's share of the curb and side-
walk construction along Elwood Avenue from Portage to Olive. The
City traditionally pays for curb, walks and ramps at intersections.
Because of wheel chair ramps, a significant cost was incurred.
We respectfully request your approval of this ordinance.
