ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $3,400.00 FROM
THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT COMMONLY
REFERRED TO AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING,
FOR THE REVISION OF THE SOUTH BEND
MUNICIPAL CODE, TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS LAW DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, additional funds are needed by the Department
of Law to revise the South Bend Municipal Code during the year of
1975.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council
of the City of South Bend as follows:
SECTION I. That the sum of $3,400.00 is hereby
appropriated for the year of 1975 from the Federal Assistance Grant
Fund, commonly known as the General Revenue Sharing Funds. This
appropriation is to be administered by the Department of Law and
will be distributed as set forth below:

Contractual Services 260.0 Supplement $3,400.00
SECTION II.This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, approval
by the Mayor, and the fulfillment of all statutory requirements
for emergency funding.

TO: Members of the Common Council
FROM: James A. Roemer
RE: Supplement to South Bend Municipal Code
I have submitted an ordinance, for your consideration,
to appropriate $3400.00 for the purpose of supplementing the
South Bend Municipal Code.
The last time the Code was updated in 1971, a complete
recodification was performed. Since a complete recodification
is necessary only once every ten years, we are just supplement-
ing our Code this year. That is, the company we contract with
will take all the ordinances of a permanent nature passed since
1971, insert them into the Code and provide us with a complete
new index.
We have not awarded the contract as ,yet. We are in the
process of meeting with the two lowest and best bidders. From
the time the money is appropriated, and the contract awarded,
it will take 45 -60 days to prepare the supplement to our Code.
