RE: Additional Deputy City Attorney
December 10, 1975
I am asking for the funding of a deputy city attorney
position to be continued during 1976 out of revenue sharing
funds. The amount which I am requesting, $7,191.00, is an
increase from that which was authorized for 1975 for this
position. The increase is necessary so that the salary for
this deputy city attorney corresponds to the salary received
by the other deputies.
The City Attorney Designate, Mr. Thomas Brunner, has
informed me of his concurrence with this request. He has in-
dicated that the deputy city attorney provided by this source
of funds would work in the areas of public safety and code en-
forcement. The attention which the Department of Law must
give to these priority areas is significant, and this argues
for the authorization of the deputy position.
I strongly recommend the adoption of this ordinance which
would permit the appointment of a deputy city attorney devoted
to working in the areas of public safety and code enforcement.
