AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $7,000.00 FROM THE
FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS
GENERAL REVENUE SHARING, FOR VARIOUS PUBLIC WORKS
PROGRAMS TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH
BEND THROUGH THE BUREAU OF BUILDING MAINTENANCE
(MSF).
WHEREAS, additional funds are needed by the Bureau of Building
Maintenance to ensure the department's ability to properly perform
its function during the year 1976.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. that the sum of $7,000.00 is hereby appropriated
for the year 1976 from the Federal Assistance
Grant Fund. This appropriation is to be admini-
stered by the Bureau of Building Maintenance
and will be distributed as set forth below:

SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council,
approval by the Mayor and the fulfillment of all
statutory requirements for emergency appropriations.

There will be presented, for your consideration on September 12,
1976, the first reading of an or dinance appropriating $7,000.00
from Revenue Sharing.
The monies will be used to replace the stand -by generator at the
Municipal Services Facility, As you are aware, this equipment is
essential to maintaining communications, lights and heat in that
facility during storm conditions which knock out power sources.
The present piece of equipment has been in use since the building
of the facility, and at this point warrants replacement because of
its condition and maintenance costs.
Your favorable consideration of this ordinance is appreciated.
