ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $125,000.00 FROM THE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GRANT FUND FOR VARIOUS
PUBLIC WORKS PROGRAMS TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF
PUBLIC WORKS.
WHEREAS, additional funds are needed by the Department of Public
Works to administer certain public works programs and to insure the
department's ability to properly perform its function during the year
1976.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City
of South Bend, Indiana, as follows:
SECTION I. The sum of $125,000.00 is hereby appropriated for
the year 1976 from the Community Development Grant Fund (1976). The
appropriation is to be administered by the Department of Public Works
and will be distributed as set forth below:

STREET IMPROVEMENTS
ACCOUNT DESCRIPTION AMOUNT
260.0 Other Contractuals $125,000.00
TOTAL APPROPRIATIONS $125,000.00
SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the
Mayor.

Subject: Community Development Appropriation,
Bureau of Streets Materials
Dear Council Members:
The 1976 Budget for the Bureau of Streets did not include
sufficient funding from the Motor Vehicle Fund to provide
sufficient materials for the 1976 Summer Paving Program.
To supplement this program, $125,000 from the second year
allocation Community Development Funds was designated for
Bureau of Streets materials.
This Community Development funding, together with Revenue
Sharing and Motor Vehicle Highway funds,is sufficient to
enable the Bureau of Streets to complete a very good 1976
paving program. Your favorable consideration of this
appropriation is recommended.
