ORDINANCE NO. 6015 -76
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $283,000 FROM THE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FUND, FOR COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION COSTS, TO BE
ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND
THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES.
WHEREAS, the Department of Human Resources in the
name of the City of South Bend has received the approval of
the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development
to execute certain community development project activities
and to provide funds to administer the overall Community
Development Block Grant Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council
of the City of South Bend as follows;
SECTION I. The sum of $283,000 is hereby appropriated
for the program year starting July 7, 1976, from the South Bend
Community Development Block Grant Program. This appropriation is
to be administered by the Department of Human Resources.

TOTAL $283,000
SECTION II. All contracts above $5,000 shall be
submitted by the Department of Human Resources to the Common Council
in resolution form before any expenditure shall be appropriated.
SECTION III. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and approval
by the Mayor.

Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion
This Ordinance be recommended favorably, as amended:
Reduce salaries and fringe to $224,869
Reduce non - personnel costs to 58,131

Add new Section II - All contracts above $5,000 shall be
submitted by the Department of Human Resources to the
Common Council in resolution form before any expenditure
shall be appropriated.
