AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA, REAFFIRMING ORDINANCE NO. 10192 -12 AND FIXING THE ANNUAL
PAY AND MONETARY FRINGE BENEFITS OF SWORN MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH
BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2014
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
The last collective bargaining agreement between South Bend and the sworn
members of the Fraternal Order of Police South Bend Lodge No. 36 was concluded in 2012 and
resulted in the Common Council's passage of Ordinance No. 10192 -12 which fixed the annual pay
and monetary fringe benefits of the members of the South Bend Police Department for Calendar
years 2013 and 2014. This ordinance reaffirms for calendar year 2014 the annual pay and fringe
benefits of sworn members of the South Bend Police Department including upper level policy
making positions defined by Indiana Code Section 36- 8 -1 -12 as set forth in Ordinance No. 10192-
12.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows:
Section I. The annual pay and fringe benefits for members of the South Bend Police
Department including upper level policy making positions as defined at Indiana Code Section
36- 8 -1 -12 are hereby fixed and established for calendar year 2014 as set forth in Ordinance No.
10192 -12 which is incorporated herein by reference, and which is in all other ways affirmed.
Section II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the
Common Council and approval by the Mayor.

Dear President Dieter:
Attached is an Ordinance fixing annual pay and monetary fringe benefits for members of
the South Bend Police Department for calendar year 2014. This ordinance essentially reaffirms
the 2014 Police Department pay rates set out in Ordinance No. 10192 -12, passed by the Council
in 2012.
I will present this Ordinance at the Council's Personnel & Finance Committee meeting
and at the public hearing. If you have any further questions or need additional information,
