AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $ 35, 400.00 FROM
THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT COMMONLY RE-
FERRED TO AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING FOR
VARIOUS ADMINISTRATIVE PROGRAMS TO BE AD-
MINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH
ITS DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE.
WHEREAS, additional funds are needed by the Department of Admin-
istration and Finance to administer certain Administrative programs and
to insure the Department's ability to properly perform its functions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of
the City of South Bend as follows:
SECTION I. That the sum of $35, 400.00 is hereby appropriated
from the Federal Assistance Grant Fund commonly known as the General
Revenue Sharing Fund. This appropriation is to be administered by the
Department of Administration and Finance and will be distributed as set
forth below:

SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage by the Common Council, approval by the Mayor, and
the fulfillment of all statutory requirements for emergency funding.

This letter is to request $35,400 for the continuance
of the activities of the Mayor's Downtown Development
Committee.
The funds will be used primarily to meet advertising
costs. A portion of the funds will be used to meet
travel and telephone expenses, and to cover a small
deficit incurred over the past six months of the
Committee's activities.
