Executive Session of the South Bend Common Council
2013
The October 14, 2013 Executive Session of the South Bend Common Council was called
to order by Council President Derek D. Dieter at 3:15 p.m. in the Council's Informal Meeting
Room.
Persons in attendance at time of the call to order included Council Members Tim Scott,
Dr. Fred Ferlic, Dr. David Varner, Oliver J. Davis, Gavin Ferlic, Karen L. White, and Derek D.
Dieter; Mayor Pete Buttigieg, City Controller Mark Neal, Chief of Staff Katherine Roos, Public
Works Director Eric Horvath, Board of Works Agent Cheryl Greene, and Common Council
Agent Kathleen Cekanski - Farrand.
Shortly after the Executive Session began, Council Members Henry Davis, Jr. and
Valerie Schey joined the meeting in progress.
The Executive Session was called pursuant to the Notice dated October 10, 2013
(attached) which states in part that the meeting is being held pursuant to Indiana Code § 5 -14-
1.5-6.1 (b)(2)(A) for "... the discussion of strategy with regard to collective bargaining necessary
for negotiations with Teamsters ".
This is to certify that the only subject matter discussed at this Executive Session was that
contained in the October 10, 2013 "Notice of Executive Session ".
Council Vice - President Davis adjourned the meeting at 3:26 p.m.

RE: NOTICE OF EXECUTIVE SESSION
An EXECUTIVE SESSION of the South Bend Common Council will be held at
3:1,_on Monday, October 14. 2013, in the Council Informal Meeting Room
4 Floor County -City Building, South Bend, Indiana.
This Executive Session is being called pursuant to Indiana Code §5-14-1.5 -
6.1(b)(2)(A) and shall be held for the discussion of strategy with regard to
collective bargaining necessary for negotiations with Teamsters.
