AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $15,155.00 FROM
THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT, COMMONLY
REFERRED TO AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING,
FOR VARIOUS HUMAN RESOURCES PROGRAMS, TO BE
ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND
THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES
WHEREAS, additional funds are needed to administer certain
Human Resources programs and to insure the department's ability to
properly perform its functions during the year 1977.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the
City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows:
SECTION I. The sum of $15,155.00 is hereby appropriated
for the year 1977 from the Federal Assistance Grant Fund, commonly
known as the General Revenue Sharing Trust Fund. This appro-
priation is to be administered by the Department of Human Re-
sources and will be distributed as set forth below.

SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, approval
by the Mayor, and the fulfillment of all statutory requirements for
emergency appropriation.

On January 4, 1977, there will be presented for your con-
sideration, an ordinance appropriating $15,155.00 from the
Revenue Sharing Trust Fund to cover the expected expenses
of the 1977 Ethnic Festival. As you are aware, this is
a Festival that has taken place yearly on River Bend Plaza
since the inception of the Plaza. In the past this has
been one of the more successful events staged.
I am enclosing a proposed breakdown of the expenses we
anticipate for your approval, and thank you for your con -
sideration in this matter.
