ORDINANCE NO. (Q ) 03 -'%'7
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $8,378.00 FROM THE
FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT COMMONLY REFERRED TO
AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING, FOR VARIOUS LAW
ENFORCEMENT PROGRAMS, TO BE ADMINISTERED BY
THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT
OF LAW.
WHEREAS, additional funds are needed by the Department of Law
to administer certain law enforcement programs and to insure the
department's ability to properly perform its functions during the
year of 1977.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City
of South Bend as follows:
SECTION I. That the sum of $8,378.00 is hereby appropriated for
the year of 1977 from the Federal Assistance Grant Fund, commonly
known as the General Revenue Sharing Fund. This appropriation is to
be administered by the Department of Law and will be distributed as
set forth below:

SECTION II. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, approval by
the Mayor, and the fulfillment of all statutory requirements for
emergency funding.

Re: Continuation of Revenue Sharing
Deputy City Attorney Position
Dear Members of the Common Council:
219/284 -9241
Presently, one of our Deputy City Attorney positions is funded
out of Federal Revenue Sharing.
The Deputy City Attorney provided by this source of funds has
worked in the areas of public safety and housing code enforcement.
It is my view that this position has contributed invaluably to this
Department's enforcement efforts in the above - described areas.
Therefore, we are again requesting that this position be funded out
of Federal Revenue Sharing for the year 1977.
Be assured your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.
