ORDINANCE NO. (o100 -i7
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $100,000.00 FROM THE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUND FOR VARIOUS
PUBLIC WORKS PROGRAMS TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC
WORKS.
WHEREAS, additional funds are needed by the Department of Public Works
to administer certain public works programs and to insure the Department's
ability to properly perform its function during the year 1977.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of
South Bend as follows:
SECTION I. The sum of $100,000.00 is hereby appropriated for the
year 1977 from the Community Development Block Grant Fund. The appropriation
is to be administered by the Department of Public Works and will be distribu-
ted as set forth below:

CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION
ACCOUNT DESCRIPTION AMOUNT
260.0 Other Contractuals $100,000.00
TOTAL APPROPRIATIONS $100,000.00
SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after passage by the Common Council by the Mayor, and the fulfillment
of all statutory requirements for emergency appropriation.

The Department of Public Works is submitting an ordinance appro-
priating $100,000 of Community Development money into Program
CD -76 -502. This money, together with unexpended funds from the
first year program, will be used for the 1977 Curb Program.

The Department of Public Works is currently developing the 1977
Curb Program. It is presently anticipated that plans will be
completed for major projects of this program so that construction
could start in early Spring.
