ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $195,000.00 FROM THE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GRANT FUND FOR VARIOUS
PUBLIC WORKS PROGRAMS TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF
PUBLIC WORKS.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
Additional funds are needed by the Department of Public Works to ad-
minister certain public works programs and to ensure the Department's ability
to properly perform its function during the year 1977.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
SECTION I: The sum of $195,000.00 is hereby appropriated for the year
1977 from the Community Development Grant Fund (1976). The appropriation is
to be administered by the Department of Public Works and will be distributed
as set forth below:

SECTION II: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.

The attached ordinance, appropriating $195,000 from Community Develop-
ment Funds to Street Improvements, serves as the second step in the
appropriation process for 1976 Community Development Funds.
You will recall that the 1976 Community Development Program allotted
a total of $320,000 toward street improvements. Of this amount $125,000
was appropriated last September, 1976, leaving a balance of $195,000.
This appropriation will serve to compliment the previously appropriated
MVH and Revenue Sharing Funds, thus allowing the Bureau of Streets to
proceed with their proposed 1977 program.
