AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE BUREAU
OF WATER OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND
(1) GATES CHEVROLET CORP., SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND
(2) INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO., SOUTH BEND, INDIANA,
FOR THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN MOTOR VEHICLES IN THE
TOTAL AMOUNT OF $29,699.29.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
To approve the purchase of motor vehicles as purchase of
same is required in the operation of the Bureau of Water.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That the Contract entered into between the
Bureau of Water of South Bend, Indiana, and (1) Gates Chevrolet
Corp., South Bend, Indiana, and (2) International Harvester Co.,
South Bend, Indiana, on the 18th day of April, 1977, pursuant to
advertising and receipt of bids, in a total quantity and a total
cost not to exceed the quantity and cost itemized for each classifi-
cation in the amount of $29,699.29, is hereby approved and confirmed:
1. GATES CHEVROLET CORP.

SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect

SUBJECT: Ordinance for the Purchase of Motor Vehicles

The Bureau of Water is presenting an Ordinance to the Common Council
which will approve one Contract for the purchase of motor vehicles.
Bids were let pursuant to the Statutes of the State of Indiana and
were found competitive. The Contract was awarded to (1) Gates Chevrolet Corp.,
South Bend, Indiana, and (2) International Harvester Co., South Bend, Indiana,
by the Board of Water Works Commissioners on the 18th day of April, 1977, as
being the lowest and best bids. Total net amount of this purchase is $39,743.86.
