AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING $5500.00 FROM ACCOUNT 110.0
"SALARIES AND WAGES" TO ACCOUNT 726.0 "OTHER EQUIPMENT"
BOTH ACCOUNTS BEING WITHIN THE COMMUNICATION DEPARTMENT
BUDGET OF THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA.
WHEREAS, certain extraordinary conditions have developed since the
adoption of the existing budget for the Communications Department so that
it is now necessary to appropriate more money than was appropriated in the
original budget for the various functions of city government to meet
such extraordinary conditions; and
WHEREAS, additional funds are needed for certain accounts within the
Communication Dept. budget to assure that department's ability to properly
perform its functions, and
WHEREAS, funds exist in various accounts of the Communication Department
which are not presently needed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
SECTION I. That the sum of $5500.00 be transfered between various
accounts as set forth below:
REDUCE THE FOLLOWING ACCOUNT

INCREASE THE FOLLOWING ACCOUNT

SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.

There is and has been a need for batteries for police por-
table radios. I will have a surplus in the Bureau of Com-
munications 110 (salaries) account of approximately $5,500
for the year 1976. I would appreciate an ordinance trans-
ferring the $5,500 of my 110 account to my 726 (other equip-
ment) account. This will enable me to purchase a quantity
of portable radio batteries and some other related equip-
ment. The anticipated cost per unit will be $38.
I understand you will have a need to waive the regular or-
der of business to have a Public Hearing on 13December 1976
on such an ordinance. If such a Public Hearing is granted
Glenn Terry from the Police Department will be available to
introduce the ordinance and justify it. _
