AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING ALL PARKING METER FEES AND FUNDS FOR THE YEAR 1977 TO THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE USES AND PURPOSES SET FORTH THEREIN, IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHAPTER 208 OF THE ACTS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF INDIANA OF 1965. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: SECTION I. For the payment of the costs of maintenance, operation, repair and all other incidental costs and expenses in the operation of mechanical parking devices for the year 1977, the following sums are hereby appropriated: PARKING METER FUND Services Personal Estimate 110.0 Superintendent $9,994.00 Collector- Repairman 3@ 9308.00 27,924.00 Secretary II _7,236.00 Total Services Personal $45,154.00 Services Contractual 213.0 Travel Expense -0- 241.0 Printing, other than office supplies $6,000.00 Total Services Contractual $6,000.00 Materials 430.0 Repair Parts $3,500.00 Total Materials $3,500.00 Current Charges 540.0 Clothing Allowance -0- 590.0 Reimbursement to Corporation $30,925.00 General Fund (Salaries of 5 Meter Maids) Total Current Charges $30,925.00 Current Obligations 620.0 F.I.C.A. I would like to point out that we are offering a budget for your examination which reflects a 7 percent decrease from that passed for 1976. Again, as in other areas, we are mak- ing a concentrated effort to limit expenditures and increase efficiency at the same time. The reduction in budget was accomplished through the re- evaluation of manpower which allowed us to transfer one individual to another department. We have also made the decision to eliminate travel money and also to drive the one departmental vehicle for an additional year.
