(e 0 R3 - ) (� AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $21,000.00 FROM THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GRANT FUND, FOR PARK EQUIPMENT, TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC PARKS. WHEREAS, additional funds are needed by the Department of Public Parks to administer certain public parks programs and to insure the de- partment's ability to properly perform its functions during the year 1976. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend as follows: Section I. The sum of $21,000.00 is hereby appropriated for the year 1976 from the Community Development Grant Fund. This appropriation is to be administered by the Department of Public Parks and will be distributed as set forth below: PROGRAM CD -76 -403 PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT Account Description Amount 726.0 Installation of Playground Equipment $21,000.00 Section II. Parent, President South Bend Common Council County -City Building 227 West Jefferson Boulevard South Bend, Indiana Dear Mr. Parent: The Department of Parks is requesting the Common Council to approve the enclosed ordinance, in the amount of $21,000.00, for the purchase of playground equipment. In an attempt to replace old worn out playground equipment and to add additional playground equipment to our parks, these funds are being requested. The funds will add approximately twenty -three pieces of equipment to six (6) different parks. The playground equipment will consist of four single spiral slides; four Whirls, eight foot diameter; one - three leg heavy duty modern swing; seven Bunker Hill climbers; four Ramble Climbers; one Jack "N" Jill Climber; and two Rainbow Arch Climbers. Suggested parks for new playground equipment are: Studebaker, Coquillard, Voorde, Navarre, Muessl and Memorial. These parks are located in each section of the city.
