Dear Mr. Parent:
The Bureau of Cemeteries respectfully requests the Common Council to approve
the enclosed ordinance for transfer of funds in the general fund.
The Bureau is requesting that $1,500.00 be transferred to account 110726,
Other Equipment.
Some needed items must be purchased to carry out honorable burials at the
City Cemeteries. Urgently needed is a 16' x 24' chapel tent to replace the
present tent that is old, torn and leaks. It is beyond repair. Artificial
grass sets that surround the burial site are needed. The grass used now is
torn and has lost its effect. A drape set that goes around the burial de-
vice is needed. The present drape set is in deplorable condition. The above
were not included in the 1976 and 1977 budgets.
We are transferring the $1,500.00 from account 110120, Salaries and Wages
Temporary. There is a balance in account 110120, Monies set aside for summer
help was not entirely used. All summer help was terminated August 20, 1976.
I feel that this transfer is needed for the efficient operation of the Bureau
of Cemeteries.
