AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE
BUREAU OF WATER OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA,
AND HARRY H. VERKLER, CONTRACTOR, INC. OF SOUTH
BEND, INDIANA FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO CONCRETE
VAULTS IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $4,954.00.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
SECTION I. That the Contract entered into between the Bureau of Water of
South Bend, Indiana and Harry H. Verkler, Contractor, Inc. of South Bend,
Indiana on the 7th day of September, 1976, for the purchase of two con-
crete vaults for the purpose of housing valves which have.to be moved to
make way for the U.S. 20 Bypass, pursuant to advertising and receipt of
bids as the purchase of same is required in the operation of the Bureau
of Water, for a total cost not to exceed $4,954.00.
SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.

TO: MEMBERS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
SUBJECT: Ordinance for the Purchase of Two Concrete Vaults
The Bureau of Water is presenting an Ordinance to the Common
Council which will approve one Contract for the purchase of two concrete
vaults. These vaults are for the purpose of housing valves which have to
be moved to make way for the U.S. 20 Bypass. The State intends to reim-
burse the City for this expense.
Bids were let pursuant to the Statutes of the State of
Indiana and were found competitive. The Contract was awarded to Harry H.
Verkler, Contractor, Inc. of South Bend, Indiana by the Board of Water
Works Commissioners on the 7th day of September, 1976, as being the lowest
and best bid. Total net amount of the purchase is $4,954.00.
