ORDINANCE NO. L196-77
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE
BUREAU OF WATER OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA, AND CLOW CORPORATION OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA, FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE 16" BUTTERFLY
VALVE IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $3,960.60.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
To approve the purchase of one 16" Butterfly Valve which will allow
semi - automatic control of water intake from the Edison Station to the
North Reservoir.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That the Contract entered into between the Bureau of
Water of South Bend, Indiana,and Clow Corporation, South Bend, Indiana,
on the 6th day of June, 1977, for the purchase of one 16" Butterfly
Valve, pursuant to advertising and receipt of bids as the purchase of
same is required in the operation of the Bureau of Water, for a total
cost not to exceed $3,960.60.
SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.

SUBJECT: Ordinance for the Purchase of One 16" Butterfly Valve

The Bureau of Water is presenting an Ordinance to the Common Council
which will approve one Contract for the purchase of one 16" Butterfly Valve. This
valve will allow semi - automatic control of water intake from the Edison Station to
the North Reservoir
Bids were let pursuant to the Statutes of the State of Indiana and
were found competitive. The Contract was awarded to Clow Corporation of South
Bend, Indiana, by the Board of Water Works Commissioners on the 6th day of June,
1977. The total amount of this purchase is $3,960.60.
