ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $3,500.00 FROM THE
FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT, C014D40NLY KNOWN AS
GENERAL REVENUE SHARING, FOR VARIOUS PUBLIC
SAFETY PROGRAMS TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH THE BUREAU OF POLICE.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
Additional funds are needed by the Bureau of Police to
administer certain programs and to ensure the Department's ability
to properly perform its functions during the year 1977.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The sum of $3,500.00 is hereby appropriated for
the year 1977 from the Federal Assistance Grant Fund commonly known
as the General Revenue Sharing Trust Fund. This appropriation is to
be administered by the Bureau of Police and will be distributed as
set forth below:

and Dental
Total Budget Appropriation $3,500.00
SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, approval
by the Mayor and the fulfillment of all statutory requirements for
emergency appropriations.

Dear Council Members:
October 4, 1977
There will be presented for first reading on October 10,
an ordinance appropriating $3,500 from Revenue Sharing
for medical expenses incurred by the Police Department.

This is the second request of this nature made during
1977. The largest portion of this $3,500 can be attri-
buted to the injury suffered by Patrolman Woods. We feel
that this will carry us through the balance of this year.
